Congresswoman Kat Cammack and representatives from National Propane Gas Association and FPGA spent some of the day with J&J Gas Service, Inc. this morning. They toured our bulk propane plant, discussed the proposed GRAIN DRYING Act, and learned more about propane uses for agricultural purposes.

While at the bulk plant, Rep. Cammack and Brandon Hewett, President of J&J Gas Service, spoke about our day-to-day operations, logistical concerns with [propane] product and freight as well as the need for consumer and agricultural independence.

Rep. Cammack had the pleasure of going on a propane delivery and rode with Jeremy West, J&J Gas Service Propane Delivery Driver. From our bulk plant, they went and delivered LP gas to one of our local agriculture clients, White Oak Dairy. White Oak is an innovative, state of the art, family-owned dairy operation located in Mayo, Florida.

The GRAIN DRYING Act would amend the current Food, Conservation and Energy Act of 2008 to clarify propane storage as an eligible use for funds provided under the loan program. The loan program began in 2000 and since then it has provided low-interest financing so agricultural producers can build or upgrade facilities to store commodities. The GRAIN DRYING Act would expand that loan program to include propane storage, which is a critical tool for grain drying and brooding houses.
